Through 'evidence based management' business leaders face the hard facts and act on the best evidence. This has to be in preference to copying what seems to work for other companies and acting on urban myth.
How often do we see a new recruit to a company's management team introduce ideas and templates from previous employment without proper reference to their new company.
I do believe that to create the opportunity for growth and success a company's management team have to use the evidence rather than the paradigms that seem to have grown to be treated as truth.
